Triaster Azure Connect

This webpage is a general resource to help Triaster users understand and work with Azure File Storage.

If your role is IT security or Administration, please review the following FAQs which contain many helpful technical and security insights here.

With a Triaster implementation, process authors (users of Triaster’s Process Navigator) are required to be able to update Visio documents that are stored on an Azure File Store. Therefore, they must be able to access Azure File Storage.

There are 2 recommended routes:

  1. Mount the Azure File Store through a drive mapping so the file store is accessed just like any other mapped drive

Please Note: This requires port 445 to be open on the firewall and Windows 8.1 or later to be installed.

  2. Use the Microsoft Azure Storage Explorer application which provides upload/download facilities to an Azure File Store.

There are plenty of free and public port testers available online, you can use one of the following websites to test if port 445 is open:

Triaster Azure Connect Script Generator

This generator allows Triaster users to create a script which maps to an Azure Drive containing their process library.

To use the script, copy and paste the text into a file and save with a .cmd extension, and then run the script in a command window (detailed steps below once the script is generated).

Please Note: You must be on Windows 8.1 or later and Port 445 must be open.
